Stage 2
Control signs and traffic signals
Stop, yield, the R1 family, flashing reds and green arrows.
Control signs
- Yield to pedestrians. Give way to anyone crossing or waiting to cross the road.
- But if you want to turn left, you can use it as a yield sign. Stop. Everyone does. But a left turner may treat it as a yield and go without stopping when the way is clear.
- The correct answer would be option B. And that's because as a driver, you have to obey the officer's instruction, right? Even if a traffic light is going to show green or another road sign is going to conflict this road sign.
- Remember, a yield sign, it does not require you to come to a full stop, right? But it does require you to give way to any traffic that is already in or approaching the intersection. Also, remember that a yield sign is never going to mean that you have priority. So, therefore, option C is going to be correct.
Traffic signals
- A flashing green arrow lets you turn right even while the light is red, provided the way is clear.
- A flashing red light is treated like a stop sign. Stop then go only when it is safe.
- The correct answer here would be option C, you may drive in this lane. And that's because remember this road sign is going to indicate that the lane is going to be open to traffic and it can be used, right? It does not mean that you must change lanes immediately, nor does it reserve any lanes for emergency vehicles only.
