Teaching points
- Goods up to 2a 4 m wide are within the legal width. Projecting 2 m at the rear or 450 mm in front is more than the law allows.
- Passengers may ride in a toad semi-tra only. No other to vehicle may carry them and 35 km per hour does not make it legal.
- The same rule again. Goods up to 2a 4 m wide are legal. The projections at front and rear are not.
- The correct answer here would be option C. It is always illegal for passengers to ride in a caravan on a public road, and that's because caravans can very easily tip or detach. And remember, a lot of caravans in South Africa are not going to have your seat belts fitted for passengers. That's going to make it very unsafe, as well as being illegal.
- It is strictly forbidden for anyone, whether you are a person or an animal, to sit on the roof of a vehicle if the vehicle is moving on a public road, right? So, automatically, option A and option C are incorrect. Because remember, sitting on the roof of a vehicle that is moving on a public road is extremely dangerous, right? Anyone can fall off, or your driver can even lose control of the vehicle. So, therefore, option B is going to be the correct answer. Passengers or animals may never occupy the roof while the vehicle is in motion.
