Manage my grant

When do I get paid? (SRD R370)

The SRD grant has no fixed pay day. Here is how to find your own pay date.

Unlike other grants, the SRD R370 grant does not have one fixed payment day every month. Instead, SASSA follows this cycle:

The R370 grant has been extended until 31 March 2027. In October 2026, SRD payments go out in batches during the last week of the month.

1. The income check (15th – 25th of the month)

SASSA checks your ID number against bank records and tax databases, to make sure no more than R624 entered your bank account. This check usually happens between the 15th and 25th.

2. Payment in batches (last week of the month)

Once you are approved, payments go out in groups (batches) during the last week of the month. Not everyone is paid on the same day.

3. Check your own pay day online

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za.
  2. Type in your South African ID number and your registered phone number.
  3. If you see "APPROVED" with no date, your payment is still being scheduled — check again in a few days.
  4. Once a "Pay Day" date appears, it can take up to 48 working hours for the money to arrive in your bank account.

If you collect cash at a store (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, or Usave), do not go to the store until you get an SMS from SASSA with your unique collection code.
